Club Philosophy

The purpose of Dakota Juniors is to develop and educate amateur youth in the skills, techniques, and knowledge of the sport of volleyball necessary to succeed in higher levels of competition. Dakota Juniors is a competitive level of volleyball by building team unity, improving individual and team skills, and instilling discipline in the players, by providing strong leadership and a positive atmosphere where the girls will have fun playing volleyball as well as improve their skills.

Things to know about Dakota Juniors:

  • We are based out of South St. Paul, Minnesota, but we accept girls from all locations around the Twin Cities area.
  • Players with other obligations such as another sport or religion classes are welcome to play for our team; however, there may be times you may not play as much as someone who attends every practice.
  • We will divide the teams during tryouts  into teams of our choice.  Girls will be placed on a team for her appropriate age group and skill levelTeams are divided by skill and experience.
  • Bad attitudes and/or disrespect towards anyone will not be tolerated.
  • Missing practice or a game without giving your coach notice is disrespectful to your teammates and your coach and may result in playing time reductions.
  • We sincerely want players to have fun and we will try to make practice and games a fun experience.
  • There is a time for fun, but when it's time to focus and listen, we expect players to give 100% of their attention and effort.
  • Players can depend on their coaches to give our best efforts in coaching, in being a good example, in being a good role model and in trying to make this a positive and fun experience.
