Club Philosophy

Welcome to Dakota Juniors Volleyball. If you are interested in playing Junior Olympic volleyball with us, there are some things you should know.  First and foremost, we believe volleyball should be fun.  The JO season is a time for girls to improve on their  volleyball skills, but more importantly, it is a time to become better leaders. We believe that to accomplish this, the girls must be examples to each other and set the standard in their actions and their attitudes.  We are about respect, and the belief that in order to receive it, you must first show it.  Lastly, we are a club where all girls can feel welcome, regardless of skill level.

Do you belong with our program?
The "win" is what we strive for.
However, winning is far less important than effort
We ask players to do the best they are capable of doing.
At the end of each game and each practice,
you need to be able to walk away and say, "I gave it my all today."
If you can give this effort and have a great attitude,
then you are welcome to play for
Dakota Juniors Volleyball!

Things to know about Dakota Juniors:

  • We are based out of South St. Paul, Minnesota, but we accept girls from all locations around the Twin Cities area.
  • Players with other obligations such as another sport or religion classes are welcome to play for our team; however, there may be times you may not play as much as someone who attends every practice.
  • We will divide the teams in the first couple of weeks of the season into teams of our choice.  Girls will be placed on a team for her appropriate age group and skill level.  We cannot guarantee that a girl will be on the same team as a friend.  Teams are divided by skill and experience.
  • Bad attitudes and/or disrespect towards anyone will not be tolerated.
  • Missing practice or a game without giving your coach notice is disrespectful to your teammates and your coach and may result in playing time reductions.
  • We sincerely want players to have fun and we will try to make practice and games a fun experience.
  • There is a time for fun, but when it's time to focus and listen, we expect players to give 100% of their attention and effort.
  • We expect players to always put forth their best effort.
  • Players can depend on their coaches to give our best efforts in coaching, in being a good example, in being a good role model and in trying to make this a positive and fun experience.
